When integrated in construction materials, phase change materials (PCMs) provide thermal inertia against temperature fluctuation and therefore increase building energy storage and efficiency.Phase change process occurs due to the indoor/outdoor temperature variation. Heat is absorbed by melting or is released by solidifying during the liquid-solid phase transition of the PCMs. This project designed used 3D concrete printing techniques to fabricate lightweigh PCM concrete panels with tailored cellular structure, which ensures improved thermo-mechanical performace performance.
